Our family had the privilege of going to the Sedalia Elementary Science Fair this past Thursday. We were busy checking out all the creative displays, when were turned the corner, and were delighted to find this "birdhouse". Can you imagine our surprise at how much it resembled the fabulous nativity scene that Maggie crafted this Christmas for Nanny and Bumpa. Jon and I laughed so hard we cried. Maggie cracked up-"I think Mitchell got a little carried away with the hot glue too!" Hmm...maybe these two great minds are on to something :)

Dearest Maggie,
Your nativity scene so delicately crafted was one of the most unique I have ever seen. And hearty to boot....no wind force could blow it over. It will always remain near to my heart and have the special place of honor on the side table every Christmas. Along with the smile that springs up when I look at it, there are tears that well in my eyes as I think about you putting your heart and soul into making it for us as something special. That is what Christmas is about. I wouldn't give up on getting to know the master of the birdhouse if I were you....there may be something to all of this.
Love,
Nanny
